QLD new action plan and $2.19 Billion investment

The Palaszczuk Government Is launching a bold new housing plan backed by 1.9 billion housing investment, this will be the largest housing project in Queensland’s history.
The COVID19 pandemic is putting pressure on interstate migration thus making it harder for people to find a home, That is why there is an investment of $1.9 billion for housing projects for the next 4 years for Queenslanders and a $1 billion housing fund for future housing needs.
The increase of the supply of affordable housing by almost 10,000 new buildings will include 7,400 new builds over the next four years under the Queensland Housing Investment Growth Initiative (QHIGI).

2021-2025 is committed to delivering essential services that include homeless people, women and families facing domestic violence and vulnerable young people.

2021-2022 Estate Budget Housing Information
The housing and homelessness action plan is a 4 years plan of $1.908 billion for an increase of housing supply.
This includes:

$1.813 billion for total expenditure.

$60 million over 2 years (held centrally with $30 million )in 2021-22 for preparing the ground.

$94.9 million over 4 years while $23.7million in 2021-22 for homelessness.

$20 million over 4 years to increase support for domestic violence.

20 million over 4 years to help the homeless. $54.9 million over 4 years for continued services from 1st housing action plan 2017-2020.
The Palaszczuk government has also put aside $1 billion for a long term fund to support present and future housing needs In 2017 the government launched a 10 years Queensland housing project to deliver 5,500 affordable homes by 2027 that included a construction job program.
Under the new action plan 2021-2025 commencement of 6,365 new affordable homes before June 30th 2025, will take us to a total of 8,845 new social and affordable homes from 2017-2025. This is an increase of 3,345 under the 2017 strategy.
